Self-inking stamps have a spring loaded pad that flips down to stamp and flips back up to re-ink between each impression. Pre-inked stamps have the ink in the stamp itself and can handle heavier duty stamping.

Types of Ink

• Self-inking stamps use a water-based ink that provides crisp, clean impressions without bleeding on most types of paper, providing 1,000′s of impressions.
• Pre-inked stamps use an oil-based ink that provides crisp, clean impressions without bleeding on most types of paper, providing between 30,000 and 50,000 impressions.

Impression Quality

• Self-inking stamps have a high quality impression, good for repeated, fast stamping.
• Pre-inked stamps have a near print quality with each impression, allowing more intricate detail to be displayed with just a light touch.

Re-inking Your Stamp

• Self-inking stamp pads can be easily removed to re-ink and than reinserted to continue stamping. You can even replace the pad when it begins to show wear.
• Pre-inked stamps can be easily re-inked by flipping the stamp over and adding a couple of drops to the ink reservoir. After re-inking it is ready for another 30,000 impressions.

The Correct Stamp for Your Needs

• We recommend a self-inking stamp if you:
• plan on using the stamp a couple times a day or for a brief periods of time;
• are planning on changing colors later;
• want a lower initial cost.
• We recommend a pre-inked stamp if you:
•  need a heavy use stamp;
• have a lot of detail in the impression,
• want a lower cost overall.

Re-inking a Self-Inking Ideal Rubber Stamp

• Push down the stamp about 1/4″ to the lock line and then slide the red button into the lock position
• Pull out the ink pad completely from the machine and flip over
• Put a few drops of refill ink onto the pad surface and allow it to soak in
• Place the ink pad back into the machine and stamp down to unlock

• Push down the stamp about 1/4″ to the lock line and then slide the red button into the lock position
• Pull out the ink pad completely from the machine
• Throw out the old ink pad
• Insert the new ink pad into the machine and stamp down to unlock

Ron, Dave & Ken Windell of Grays Harbor Stamp Works, in its 93rd year, invited John Clark and Derek Persons of Stamp-Connection along with Tony Pezze of United Marking to tour their facilities and show them that the same craftsmanship that brought success to past generations of stamp makers is still viable in today’s high tech world.
