Regular Date Stamps

Regular date stamps require an ink pad to mark the impression on paper. These daters make it easy to change the color of ink, use special fast-drying inks and align the impression on home or office documents. Regular date stamps can simply stamp the date or can be customized with text.

Self Inking Date Stamps

Self inking date stamps have an ink pad built into the frame of the dater that automatically re-inks the stamp between each impression. When the dater is pressed down, the date stamp imprint flips off the inkpad and stamps down onto the surface to be marked, leaving a crisp impression.

These types of date stamps are the most widely used for their ease of operation and their ability to make thousands of repetitive impressions without re-inking.

Pre-Inked Date Stamps

Pre-Inked date stamps have special bands that retain oil based ink. There is no need for a separate or built in ink pad since the band already contains the ink. The special oil based ink allows the user to stamp up to 50,000 times without needing to re-ink the machine.

These special date stamps provide a crisp, clear impression every time and the greatest value for high volume date stamping needs.

How Date Stamps Work

The standard date set consists of 4 different bands: a month band containing the 3 letter abbreviation for the twelve months of the year, two number bands that include the numbers 0-9 and a dash mark and the year band. Date stamp year bands contain either 11 years or six years with additional phrases such as “Entered”, “Paid” and “Received”. The stamp that meets your specific needs is a matter of how much versatility you need versus how long you wish to use the same date stamp. The year bands are easily updated on either model when the band reaches its final year.

Each of these bands is wrapped around a special wheel that allows you to turn the band to the desired month, day, year or additional phrase. The bands are specially designed to lock into place to allow for an even impression across all the bands. Simply turn the wheel until the date is set and you are ready to stamp.
